About Immigrant Kitchen

“Immigrants” are real people with real stories. Using the powerful tool of home cooking, we will explore immigration stories through the lens of the people who have lived them.

Immigrant Kitchen dinners will be ticketed, storytelling events with up to 60 seats served family-style, punctuated by sharing and storytelling.

The Table

“Immigrants” are real people. They are individuals with families, jobs, and lives. Typically, immigrants have extremely good reasons to have left their home countries to seek a new life in America.

At BIPOC Foodways Alliance, our mission is to dismantle white supremacy. We do this by breaking down cultural barriers, providing a platform for people of color–including immigrants–to tell their important cultural legacy stories through the lens of food; and by de-centering whiteness in our programming.

At this moment in US history, we think that now is a crucial time for these stories to be told, and to be heard.
